The carrier will offer no-cost quick onboard connectivity through satellite partnership

Passengers flying with British Airways can soon access high-speed internet onboard at no cost due to a recent agreement with SpaceX's communications firm.

Free plus High-speed Connectivity Across the Board

The carrier revealed that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” wifi service from the satellite provider is set to be accessible to customers in economy, business, or first class as of next month.

Expanded Implementation Over Various Carriers

The holding organization of BA, the airline group, stated it had reached an agreement involving the satellite firm to offer connectivity services on 500-plus jets operated by its airlines, such as Aer Lingus, the Spanish carrier, and Vueling.

Seamless Wifi starting at Boarding through Landing

BA noted that the rollout of this system formed part of a seven billion pound “upgrade” initiative and will deliver lag-free internet coverage for travelers from the gate to landing, including when in flight above seas and far-off locations.

Customers will be able to hook up multiple gadgets and do not need a unique access code.

Transformative for the airline and our customers, elevating the journey during flights with us through providing passengers smooth internet from start to finish.”

Current Wifi Options

Restricted wifi access is presently provided to British Airways flyers through most of their aircraft via the .air platform.

Participants in the airline's frequent flyer program can send texts and text-only emails onboard free of charge, whereas travelers looking to watch music, video, and movies during their flight and are not flying in business or first might be charged from four pounds ninety-nine and £21.99 for a connectivity plan.

SpaceX uses a constellation of thousands with satellites and it's managed by SpaceX’s company.

Recent Upgrades at the Airline

The airline's leadership are striving to improve British Airways around following a long time with cost cutting, IT problems, labor disputes, and staff cuts.

The airline noted that implementation of AI had helped the airline to reach its timeliness to the best levels since 2012.

Earnings Results

In August, BA reported a rise for operating profits during H1 of this year, contributing to the parent company earnings to grow.

IAG is set to release the earnings covering the quarter this summer shortly.

Recent Starlink Partnerships

British Airways’ update comes shortly after mobile phone provider another UK company said it was teaming up alongside Starlink to enhance mobile network coverage across remote areas of the UK, letting users to automatically hook up handsets via orbiting devices in the absence of standard cellular service can be found.
