Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Coast
An aircraft flying near a well-attended coastal coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm groves as spectators observed.
Videos shared on the internet depict the helicopter commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then plunging near the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters said five individuals were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Details on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.

Officials said the aircraft was connected to an yearly “Cars with Copters” benefit occasion set for the next day.
