Battlefield 6 Gamers Concur: Challenges Are Way Too Hard
The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are required to unlock specific weapons.
Users have commenced using personalized games set up using the custom game tool to finish these tasks, highlighting just how arduous these assignments have become.
Understanding BF6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four categories of assignments, but while the majority only reward outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the exclusive means of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one key firearms available in the game.
Several of these restricted firearms could shortly make their appearance on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash on Reddit
Within Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy some of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This mission is so awful and totally unreasonable, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and functions solely at very short distances, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Extremely Difficult Task
Another Reddit user highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, within the long-range weapon type to unlock the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is tough enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game right now, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and possibly a classic map at a push if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Bypass
Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. This portal feature is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, including AI opponents. This means you can cheese the system… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.
However, when tackling the tasks in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for completing them in a private match so allies are not impaired?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if some of these assignments are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
At the moment, the community continues to voice their opinions on these challenging in-game tasks, hoping for a fairer overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
